These signals are very sensitive to interference of all kinds, which can manifest itself as disturbing noise or hum. With the TC-5B, therefore, in addition to the sonic properties very great emphasis was placed on minimizing this interference. In addition to the well-shielded and high-quality metal housing with a solid 4 mm aluminum front and rear panel, the TC-5B has an external power supply for minimizing interference. In addition, however, the TC-5B comes up with a top feature unusual in its price range, as it was also given the option of switching from power supply by AC adapter to power supply by battery operation (9V block). Depending on the turntable or setup of the system, this can make a very big difference in sound. A standard alkaline 9V block (not included) is sufficient for about 40 hours of music enjoyment.
