The Audio Mode switch allows you to set the audio format that the HDMI source provides - if the audio track is available. Note that the same audio format applies to all outputs. Very few TVs can handle 7. 1 audio and will remain muted. With HD audio, no output Per SPDIF or analog is possible. HD sound formats such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD can only be transmitted via HDMI. Via SPDIF Toslink digital stereo (LPCM 2. 0) or 5. 1 sound (Dolby Digital / AC-3 or DTS) can be transmitted, depending on the source material. Digital sound formats have no volume, this can only be controlled at the audio amplifier. Therefore, with SPDIF connection, you can only control the volume on AV receiver / soundbar. With HDMI audio connection, indirect control is possible if the devices support HDMI CEC. Switching between inputs is automatic (auto-switching) or manual via remote control or control button. When you turn on a connected HDMI source, it will automatically switch to that input. If you switch off the HDMI source, it will switch to the previously used HDMI input. Some devices do not turn off their HDMI output in standby, so the switch will always be signaled that the device is on. To get around this, you can turn off the auto-switching feature. ARC (Audio Return Channel) for outputting TV sound via the digital output is supported (NO output on the analog output).
