FreeCAD is a parametric 3D design program. More than 20 different workbenches on special topics are available to you for the constructive processing. These include, for example, architecture, shipbuilding, FEM, mesh, robots or classic mechanical engineering.

Design real 3D objects in any size, design buildings, design and calculate ship hulls or work with meshes. The wide range of applications makes FreeCAD the perfect tool for engineers, draftsmen, architects and designers.

The Parts workspace offers the possibility to first create simple objects such as cubes, cones, cylinders, spheres or tori. These can then be modified: Perform Boolean operations, unite two objects, extract their intersections, prune objects, etc.

The Part Design Workbench provides tools for modeling complex solid parts to create a single coherent solid.

Select from numerous elements in the Architecture workspace: Reinforcing bars, framing members, walls, windows, stairs, roofs, and more. Create axis systems, create section surfaces or define material properties of objects.

Use the Robot module to simulate robot motions for industrial jointed-arm robots with six rotational axes. Build a simulation environment with robots and workpieces, create and fill motion paths. The trajectories can be exported as a robot program file.
