The JBL Boombox 3 Wi-Fi actually offers everything except built-in microphones for Google Home/Alexa, which would have no function in mobile operation anyway. Instead, it can easily fill half the neighbourhood or the entire quarry pond with sound and can even withstand lawn sprinklers and thunderstorms...

The market for portable speakers with AirPlay is still small, but is growing steadily. There were no real failures in our test, with the Beosound A5 definitely leading the ranking in terms of sound. The 3-way speaker impresses with its voluminous backdrop and long battery life, only the support for Dolby Atmos could be better.

The Boombox 3 convinces in both versions with its chic appearance and high-quality details as well as pleasant, powerful sound. There are only nuances to complain about in the sound: the Boombox 3 is a little loud in the basses, the WiFi version in the upper mids. In the end, both boomboxes get good marks...
