Kenwood CR-ST700SCD-S WiFi Smart Radio with DAB+, Internet Radio, CD, USB, BT, and TFT Display. The term Smart Radio already indicates its capabilities. The Kenwood CR-ST700SCD not only receives analog FM and digital DAB+ stations but also plays countless internet radio stations from around the world. The CR-ST700SCD can be integrated into your home network via Wi-Fi. This allows the Kenwood Smart Radio to connect to streaming platforms such as Amazon Music, Deezer, or Spotify Connect. A special highlight is that it is one of the few devices that can play the uncompressed streaming service of Spotify HiFi. Additionally, easy audio transmission via Bluetooth and control through a smartphone app enhance usability. For analog signal transmission, the radio features an AUX input, a headphone jack (3.5 mm mini jack), and a USB port on the back of the unit. A 7.1 cm TFT color display with an integrated clock in standby mode shows all available radio stations sorted by genre and alphabetically. Furthermore, a quick access function allows you to save up to 80 different stations, whether from internet radio, DAB+, or FM. The integrated 2.1-channel speaker system includes a separate down-firing subwoofer and delivers powerful stereo sound with a total RMS output of 43 watts in small to medium-sized rooms. The Kenwood delivers one of the best sounds tested. It reproduces music in a balanced and warm way. Only the treble is a little sharp with some instruments. The simple operation is pleasing and the large and bright display is a real eye-catcher. However, due to minor issues such as the lack of a USB charging function, it only came in second place.
