Marshall ends up in the midfield with its beermat-shaped will. Apart from the slightly tinny sound, this is mainly due to the maximum volume, which is far too low at around 74 decibels. However, when users turn the volume up, the Willen really booms. Marshall's smallest looks stylish and sounds decent. The reproduction is clear, but also slightly droning and boomy at full volume. And due to its size, the volume is not really high. On the other hand, the Willen scores with a first-class battery life of over 17 hours. In addition, the small joystick was better than the often fiddly buttons in the tests.
A powerful bass, easily audible details and a balanced, lively sound - that's what the perfect Bluetooth speaker should sound like. However, good sound quality is not everything: Stiftung Warentest expects a test winner speaker to be easy to use, to have a long-lasting battery and to offer practical additional functions.
The Marshall Willen is easy to operate, sounds good for its size and convinces with the brand's usual vintage design and high build quality. However, there are competitors in this price range that sound better.
