The OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is a good camera at a reasonable price and with plenty of features. Silent mode, adjustable gradation curve, adjustable zoom speed and much more - the camera is bursting with functions. That's fine for dedicated amateurs. But a real entry-level model would need a simpler menu so that they are not scared away by an avalanche of terms and functions...
With the OM-D E-M10 Mark IV, photographers get into high-quality MFT photography at a good price. You get an up-to-date sensor, Olympus-typical special features and fast and solid technology. All of this in a compact and lightweight body that is nevertheless well made. You can save money by reaching for the predecessor model, which however only has the older (but not bad) 16 megapixel sensor.
- Good to very good image quality (up to ISO 800)
- High ISO values up to ISO 3,200 still quite usable
- Camera body fits well in the hand
- Tiltable display with a diagonal of 3.0 inches
- Decent electronic viewfinder (2.36 million subpixels)
- Very high frame rate (in the lab: 15.4 fps for 46 RAW images in a row)
Still good system camera with good electronic viewfinder and network function. Very good monitor that folds (270 degrees), fast camera, many extras and functions.
