Product details
The Panasonic S1 is a full-frame system camera with an L-mount, featuring top-notch capabilities for both stills and video use. Its features and durability make it an excellent choice for professionals and demanding enthusiasts alike. The camera employs a new 24-megapixel sensor and records oversampled 4K30p video or 4K/60p video with an APS-C crop.
The S1 body includes a 5-axis image stabilizer that provides up to 5.5 stops of stabilization, even with lenses that lack stabilization. The S1 boasts the market’s most accurate 5.76 million dot OLED viewfinder. Thanks to the premium image sensor, ISO sensitivity extends to an impressive 204,800 in expanded mode, making low-light photography a breeze. The wide dynamic range facilitates post-processing. The autofocus utilizes Panasonic’s DFD technology and works down to -6 EV brightness. The fast processor and sensor enable autofocus updates at a rate of 480 times per second. The body features two memory card slots, one modern and ultra-fast XQD slot, and another SD card slot with UHS-II support.
The video capabilities of the Panasonic S1 are professional-grade. Thanks to good cooling, the S1 can record 4K30p videos and Full HD videos without time limits. An upgrade is also available to allow for 10-bit 4:2:2 video recording. The S1 comes with a microphone input for better audio and a headphone jack for audio monitoring. In addition, the camera has an HDMI A connection through which you can output video to an external recorder or use it for monitoring.
Many lenses are expected for the L-mount from Panasonic, Sigma, and Leica, so the future looks bright!
