Are you looking for a good, solid CD player? Sounds simple, but it's not. This starts with the drive, which in many cases was developed for PC or other multimedia applications and was not optimized for CDs.
Unlike the silent drive mechanism in the PD-10AE, it is one of the few true CD drives designed specifically for secure, low-noise CD scanning and mounted centrally in a torsion-resistant sheet steel chassis.
The power supply is also not off-the-shelf, nor is the converter board, which clocks a modern AKM-DAC 4482VT with a particularly precise clock: only ±10ppm deviation from the setpoint - the best prerequisites for precisely focused, natural sound.
