Product details
The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB turntable impresses with its stylish, CNC-milled chassis. It contains no plastic parts and is manufactured entirely without cavities, so that no unwanted vibrations can occur in
the chassis. In keeping with this philosophy, the turntable is also made of solid glass. In contrast to plastic or light steel platters, unwanted resonances are effectively suppressed.
The T1 tonearm is a version based on long proven Pro-Ject designs. Made entirely from one piece of aluminium, it is fitted with Pro-Ject's low-friction bearings so that tracking is always done with absolute precision. The integrated headshell also causes no additional vibration and is a big improvement over other removable, screw-on or glued-on headshells. The platter of the T1 is driven by a belt. This precisely transmits the driving force to the newly designed sub-platter, which in turn sits in the ultra-precise 0.001 mm platter bearing with a hardened stainless steel shaft in a brass bushing. Together with the electronically controlled motor system, the T1 is therefore able to provide a smooth, resonance-free rotation platform for the tonearm and cartridge.
The pre-mounted Ortofon OM 5E quality cartridge with elliptical needle grind makes this turntable a true HiFi playback device without compromise. Included in the delivery are excellently shielded, quasi-symmetrical, low-capacity phono cables, which were specially designed by Pro-Ject for the connection of turntables. No - as is often the case - simple Cinch cables are supplied. The manufacturing in Europe is done in a factory with decades of tradition in turntable manufacturing. This is exactly what makes the T1 a real hi-fi turntable that is convincing in terms of sound and appearance.
More comfort and flexibility: Compared to the basic T1, the Phono SB has a built-in, high-quality phono MM stage developed by Pro-Ject and an electronic speed switch between 33 and 45 rpm.

Pro-Ject has done everything right with the T1 line. Of course, given the price, you have to accept compromises in terms of features and materials, but the turntable is supposed to do one thing above all: bring fun without having to deal with the technology in a big way. This is exactly what the manufacturer has brilliantly achieved...
