As user "chauppert" wrote 3 months ago: the ArtMode for your own photos simply does not work!
I bought the "Frame" for my girlfriend, who wants to admire and present her own photos herself and has absolutely NO interest in "normal" TV. As I own the 32" Frame model year 2016 myself, I recommended this one to her. I managed to copy the photos from the USB stick to the device. The photos are visible in the overview, but they are not displayed in ArtMode.
The slideshow, on the other hand, works, as user "andreasmenius" already told me in the Q&A. The disadvantage here is that the slideshow has to be restarted every time the device is switched on, whereas with my 2016 model in ArtMode I can see my photos immediately every time I switch it on. Another disadvantage: in the slideshow, the image changes can be adjusted in three stages, with "Slow" meaning that a new photo appears every 10 seconds. This is of course dizzyingly fast. But the aim would also be the ArtMode, which offers 15 minutes as the fastest change.
I am now trying to find a solution with the help of Samsung support. I'll keep you up to date...
Conclusion: Do NOT buy this device if you intend to use the frame as a digital photo frame for your own photos.

I bought the TV because I didn't have any more space in the bedroom, I actually wanted a 4K. But I realised that Full HD is still perfectly adequate at this size/distance! Also, the negative points I read in other reviews didn't materialise. The remote control also has a solar cell for the 32 inch TV, you can stand the TV upright and not just at a slight angle (the feet just have to be positioned/inserted accordingly). It also doesn't take forever to start up, as other places have written, but very quickly as normal. The matt display is my highlight, the bedside lamps are not reflected in this display, it's really great and gives a great picture in any light!
The only small disadvantage is that I don't need this art mode (as I said, I bought the TV because of the display and the size) and somehow I can't deactivate it. As I have paired the TV with the remote control of the TV box, it always switches the TV to Art Mode when I switch off the box. Workaround: When switching off, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to switch off the TV Box and TV completely. When switching on, a normal press of the button is then sufficient to start both.
Conclusion: A great device for the price!

Mega disappointed. Not my first the Frame. However, almost all the advantages of a the Frame are negated by the cable being far too thick. Even worse, it's grey and far too short!
If I didn't already have the holes in the wall, I would send it back.

I bought the device to show pictures offline in a shop. The staff should switch on the device in the morning and that's it.
Unfortunately, this is not possible without complications.
I will dispose of the device after less than a year, I would be ashamed to sell it on.
My recommendation is to keep your hands off it and buy a competitor's product.

On paper this TV should have been perfect for displaying my wife's paintings. In reality, the ArtMode feature simply does not work with your own pictures. You can transfer the pictures using a USB key or the smartthings app on the hone to the TV. The TV even display thumbnails of the transferred images.... and that's it. The TV was never able to display the pictures. I tried for many hours, formatted the pictures exactly as 1920x1080 pixels as instructed in the 270 page user manual, and had multiple interactions with Samsung support. From comments on the product and from many posts on the Internet, it is clear that this feature is not working which may be due to a recent firmware update. If you are interested in displaying your own artwork, stay away.

I got it on sale, and for 250chf it's a great purchase. Overall I'm really happy with it, but there are a couple points that would've been nice to know before I purchased:
Screen definitely looks like a TV. I think the larger models might look more "matte" in Art Mode. But it doesn't bother me too much.
I wanted to be able to automate turning on Art Mode in the afternoons, but the SmartThings app is super limited. You can only turn it on or off, and change the input source. If you have a fancy home automation system (e.g. Home Assistant), you can send the "KEY_AMBIENT" flag, but I'm not high-tech enough to figure that out yet :)
If you wanna upload your own art, it needs to fit exact dimensions. If you wanna use their built-in art library, you need (surprise!) a subscription. It's about 50chf per year.
It's only 1080p, not 4k like the other models. However, I mounted it on a wall opposite my bed, and the picture quality hasn't been an issue for me at all. Honestly 4k is pretty overkill for a 32" TV unless you're going to be sitting with your nose to the screen.
Cable really is quite thick. Kinda breaks the illusion of it being a framed photo on the wall. Larger models have a wire-thin cable that's much more invisible. No clue why they cut that corner for this model.
Sound isn't that bad, but a sound bar is definitely worth it.
