The hard drive has only one connector, the USB Type C. Included is a USB Type C cable with 45cm length. Plus an adapter to USB Type A.
Read and write speed for large files is mostly around 100MByte/s when USB 3.0 (5Gbit/s) is supported. Tested on USB Type C and USB Type A ports (same for both). Speed is consistently 35MByte/s when only USB 2.0 (480MBit/s) is supported.
Power supply via USB Type C or USB Type A connector works fine. Hard drive boots smoothly without drawing too much current. The hard drive draws a maximum of 800mA and 650mA on average when reading and writing. Most USB ports can handle that (they usually limit the current to about 2.0A, even though they might shut down before that according to USB specs).
Cable unusually tightly pluggable (for that, you're unlikely to unintentionally pull the cable out). Hold plug securely and try a few times is recommended.
Longer USB cables may work (1.5m). Unfortunately there are also badly made ones with too thin conductors. In case of problems, think about the cable and change to the original cable.
WD Passport series is the only one that works for me without failures. However, have also accustomed me to treat hard drives like raw eggs and to pay attention to cooling during operation.
For storage expansion or fast copying, an SSD like the Samsung T7 makes sense. Costs 4x more per TByte, but brings permanently over 500MByte / s when writing and reading.

If you use this disc with a new iMAC with M1 processor. Never install the WD programs that pop up when you connect it. Especially the WD Locker cost me a lot of nerves. When inserting a USB stick, the drive has said goodbye and could not be mer mounted. FINGER AWAY FROM THE WD TOOLS. Without these there are no problems

The hard disk broke after about 4 months. All data was lost. Ironically, this was the hard drive I actually used to back up the data.
I would not buy the hard disk again, the confidence in the reliability is gone.

Thanks to USB-C, there's finally no need for those unspeakable USB3 micro-B cables. But beware when using the included adapter to USB-A: There's a right way and a wrong way to plug in the adapter.
The perfidious thing about it: the hard disk also works 'the wrong way round'. If the adapter is plugged in the wrong way round, only maximum transfer speeds of 40MB/s are achieved on a USB 3.2 port. The right way round, the drive achieves continuous write rates of 100MB/s. When used directly on a USB-C port, of course, the problem does not exist.

The product is flawless. The packaging designed by digitec was insufficient. In the relatively large package, you could hear the small original package of the WD hard disk tumbling around inside - use a smaller package or filler material.
This is already the second disc that stops working properly after a few weeks of use: dodgy mechanical noises (you can feel the drive head flickering), and most importantly, the drive disconnects often - which obviously causes a whole host of problems.
