The 24mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary delivers the highest imaging performance to the corners in an ultra-compact all-metal design. This impressive I-Series wide-angle lens is available with Sony's E bayonet. The SIGMA I-Series is a lens series that offers compact, beautifully designed high-performance optics for mirrorless camera systems. The lens in this line combines excellent resolving power with a small body that is perfectly weighted for mirrorless systems. The always-on lens also makes it possible to shoot in dark environments, as it has an exceptionally good light intensity. Thanks to the advanced optical design, the fixed focal length offers consistent, high resolution across the entire image area. So that you can also use the fixed focal length lens in special weather conditions, it has splash water and dust protection.

The lens contains two SLD elements and an FLD lens to correct the chromatic aberration that fast lenses in particular are prone to. Two bare-molded aspheres provide excellent correction of various aberrations while allowing a reduction in the total number of optical elements and thus the dimensions and weight of the lens. Considering the typical applications of a wide-angle lens, the lens designers have focused their attention on uniformly high detail resolution from the center to the edges of the image field. The fact that sagittal coma is also effectively suppressed makes the lens particularly suitable for astrophotography - stars are still imaged as points even near the edge of the image. The autofocus is driven by a stepper motor that is as fast as it is quiet, bringing out the high optical performance where you want to image with maximum sharpness.

The wide-angle lens differs from normal lenses in its shorter focal length. This shorter focal length increases the angle of view, making subjects appear smaller and allowing more to be captured in the photo. In addition, the wide-angle lens creates a highly visible effect of spatial depth - objects in the distance appear even farther away, giving your images an impressive sense of depth.
