:::: Amazing imaging performance:::

Through the use of all the experience and the latest design technologies drawn from past developments, imaging errors are effectively corrected and high resolution and astonishing image performance, even at the edges of the image, is achieved.

:::: High resolution with a wonderful Bokeh:::
While a high resolution is desired for the focused subject, a nice bokeh is desired for a smooth transition outside the focal plane. Image errors such as sagittal coma and color distortions that affect image quality are corrected effectively. High-resolution reproduction without blurring is already achieved with an open aperture.
By reducing vignetting to a minimum and preventing coloured seams in front of and behind the sharpening point, a very natural bokeh is achieved.

:::: Excellent correction of sagittal coma::::
Ideally, a standard lens with high light intensity should have a high image quality over the entire image area even with an open aperture.
For example, the brightly pressed aspherical glass lens elements provide excellent correction of sagittal coma. Due to the reduced distortion of point light sources at the edges of the image, it is perfect for astrophotography and available light.

:::: Correction of longitudinal color errors:::
SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements are used to provide high image quality over the entire focus area, even in the case of longitudinal color errors that are difficult to correct even during image processing.
The lens thus achieves sharp and high-contrast image reproduction.

minimized distortion::::
Only by changing the aperture values it is not possible to compensate for distortions. The development phase of the lens was crucial for minimizing distortion.
In the "SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG HSM" each glass element has been precisely positioned for optimized force distribution to minimize distortion.

:::: Close range limit of 40cm:::
The lens incorporates a floating system that adjusts the distances between the lens groups during focusing, minimizing lens movements.
This allows a close-up adjustment limit of 40cm and a maximum magnification of 1:5.6.

:::: The Hyper Sonic motor ensures fast focusing:::
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) provides a quiet and very fast AF function. The improved AF algorithm results in smoother AF.
It can also be operated manually at any time, allowing sensitive focus adjustment by simply rotating the focus ring.

:::: Sigma's art product line delivers high artistic quality:::
SIGMA groups all its interchangeable lenses into three product lines: Contemporary, Art and Sports. The Art product line is designed for sophisticated optical performance and high expressiveness and is suitable for special artistic expression.
With astonishing imaging performance that meets the highest standards, these lenses are ideal for the kind of photography that awakens the artist in a photographer, alongside landscapes, portraits, still lifes, close-ups and snapshots.
