If you are looking for a compact full-frame camera, the Sony Alpha 7C is the right choice. It doesn't get any smaller (with viewfinder), not even the competition. There are few compromises to be made in terms of features, but the viewfinder is very small. People who wear glasses in particular should take a look through it before buying...
The focus of the Sony camera family is the Alpha world. Here you will find models from the 7 and 9 series as well as the top model Alpha 1. The Alpha 7 series is mainly aimed at ambitious amateur photographers. But how do the respective models differ? The respective model name provides information...
The Sony A7C is a good choice for leisure photography and travelling: compact and lightweight, yet robust and sealed against splash water. It also scores points with its sensor-shift image stabiliser, good battery and powerful AF system. The only thing not everyone will like is the small viewfinder image. The image sensor delivers balanced image quality - even at higher sensitivity settings.
- Fast autofocus with good scene recognition
- small and light with kit lens
- Slightly smaller
- somewhat pixelated viewfinder
- films in 4K30p as an excerpt
The Alpha 7C is very compact and lightweight for a full-frame model - it weighs just 675 grams with the kit lens. On the contrary: the Alpha 7C reacts very quickly and delivers outstanding image quality for photos and videos. Film enthusiasts can look forward to a fold-out screen and long recording times. The viewfinder is a little pixelated and difficult to see with glasses.

However, most of the larger cameras in the test field offer greater ease of use, e.g. an autofocus joystick or better viewfinders. The Canon EOS R8, which is the second cheapest camera tested with a street price of 1800 euros, won the test and offers the best value...
