Product details
The MG09ACA18TE from Toshiba's Enterprise Capacity Hard Drive MG09 series implements Microwave Assisted Magnetic Recording (FC-MAMR) technology to increase the density of conventional magnetic recording (CMR) to 2 TB per platter, achieving a total capacity of 18 TB. The hard drive is designed for continuous operation, with a workload of 550 TB per year. It also supports Toshiba's Persistent Write Cache technology, which enhances performance when handling data during a sudden power failure. This makes the MG series suitable for enterprise-class storage arrays as well as industrial server and storage systems. With its capacity and cutting-edge technology, it meets the specific requirements of data centers and cloud-class infrastructures.

Toshiba uses FC-MAMR technology for the first time in its MG09ACA18TE server hard disk, an 18-TByte drive with nine disks. In the test, it was able to achieve the expected values: In the outer zones, the data transfer rate for reading and writing was around 280 MByte/s, in the inner zones it was still 127 MByte/s...
