Product details
Wirewin S/FTP patch cables are characterized by their high quality and are suitable for Gigabit or 10-Gigabit connections with operating frequencies of up to 500 MHz. Applications for Category 6A cables include voice, multimedia, and data transmission as well as ATM networks. The wires are made of 100% copper and are double-shielded. A wire consists of many thin individual strands, making it flexible and easy to bend. Additionally, it offers high tensile strength. The cable also features strain relief. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free, eliminating the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases. Another advantage is that the exposure to toxic gases (such as hydrogen chloride gas from PVC) is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and do not exhibit a dangerous ignition cord effect. Furthermore, halogen-free cables produce less smoke in the event of a fire. Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP) refers to cables that have a metallic shield around each pair of wires (FTP) and an additional overall metallic shield (S). Shielded cables exhibit minimal impedance or reactance deviations compared to unshielded ones. The transmission parameters remain relatively constant and better than those of UTP cables, even at high frequencies. Category 6 augmented (Cat 6A) is a standard that arises from the increased bandwidth requirements of 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10 GBASE-T). Cat 6A cables are designed for transmission frequencies of up to 500 MHz and lengths of up to 100 meters, and they are backward compatible with existing categories.
