The Zebra ZT400 series is designed to be user-friendly. It has a multi-line, symbol-based 4.3" touch colour display or black and white LCD display and clearly arranged function keys. It therefore promises professional printing in production lines, for packaging and shipping labels, in incoming goods and in the healthcare sector. The industrial-grade housing with metal frame conceals a highly developed direct thermal/thermal transfer printing machine that ensures high label throughput at enormous speed. At up to 356 mm per second, the ZT410 model plays in the top league of label printers. The larger ZT420 also scores with a high speed of up to 305 mm per second. The ZT400 series prints labels and tags with a width of 25 to 114 mm (ZT410/ZT411) or 51 to 178 mm (ZT420/ZT421). Loading and changing media is particularly easy thanks to the hinged media cover. The large viewing window also allows the remaining media to be viewed at all times. Print head failure detection and recording of the print head's serial number, time stamp and odometer provide additional security. The illuminated media and ribbon path helps in low ambient light and also provides the necessary brightness inside the printer for changing. The printers also have adjustable, translucent and reflective sensors. The choice of available print resolutions (203 and 300 dpi, as well as 600 dpi for the ZT410/ZT411), XML-compatible printing and RFID functions allow the ZT400 mid-range printers to be easily integrated into a wide range of applications. The supported programming languages ZPL, ZPLII and EPL also ensure communication with existing systems and software applications in a network. Wherever and however the printers are used, the large number of interfaces and connection options ensure smooth operation. As standard, they are equipped with a USB and RS232 interface, two USB host ports and an Ethernet port for network functions as well as Bluetooth 4.1. The two free media slots are optionally available for a bidirectional parallel interface, a second network card or 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN. NFC functions for support and immediate help extend the performance of the printer series. The ZT400 series printers are optimised for use with Zebra's Link-OS software environment. Link-OS includes a software development kit and numerous practical applications for remote maintenance and printer management. The open printer architecture leaves enough room for growing needs and future applications. Zebra also offers numerous optional media holders for the printers for customised use in any application, as well as an 802.11ac WLAN card and an applicator port card.
