Thanks to the 32-bit float technology, audio signals are recorded in any situation without clipping to obtain perfect recordings. The two XLR inputs can be used for dialogue recording while the X/Y microphones are used to record the atmo, ideal for filmmakers. Thanks to the integrated timecode generator, the recordings can be easily synchronised to a video in post-production. Two external microphones can also be combined with the audio material from the X/Y microphones to create high-quality music videos. The colour LCD screen with waveform display provides a good overview of the respective tracks. The new housing design with special finish reduces hand noise during operation and thus ensures clean and clear audio quality. The two XLR/TRS inputs are equipped with professional, low-noise preamplifiers. A camera can be connected via the line output to record a backup or sync track to a video. The recordings are recorded directly to a memory card. The headphone output enables direct monitoring of the recordings. The integrated normalisation function automatically adjusts the volume to the optimum level. The M4 can also be connected to a PC via the USB port and used as an audio interface. Power is supplied via a mains adapter or with 4 AA batteries (not included), which offer a runtime of up to 18 hours.
