I own an A8500 + 8000 with various E-mount lenses. Mechanically they fit on the A7. However, they are all sized for APS-C.

A8500 + 8000 does not exist. Are 6500 and 6000 meant?  The consequences are that the entire sensor is not illuminated. In the case of the A7 III with the 24 MP sensor, you still have 10 MP in APS-C mode.  In full-frame mode there is a black vignette around the image.
