Equipped with the most important features, such as a timer and temperature controller, the small Philips also scores with its simple handling and low power consumption. The simple button menu and favourite buttons underline the good functionality.
Operation via the touch display seems well thought out. A lavish recipe book helps. The basket sits securely on a rail. Minus: Points deducted for workmanship. The compartment does not close properly.
Tefal or Philips? For French fry junkies with a large kitchen, the Tefal appliance is the obvious choice. If, on the other hand, you are looking for an even more versatile model that can be expanded with accessories, I recommend the Philips fryer. It is available for 300 euros.
The test winner delivers almost perfect results in an astonishingly short time. The operation of the model is very simple and a favourite button can be programmed by the user. Moreover, the appliance is very easy to clean and, in addition to comprehensive instructions, a recipe booklet is also included.
