Use:
For easy and fast communication between you and your horse. In contrast to most commercially available rubber bits, where
the mouthpieces are 20 mm thick and thicker, the rubberised Stübben Pelham is thinner with a thickness of only 16 mm and is therefore more comfortable in the mouth for most horses.
The thinner rubber bit minimises a possible rubbing effect.
A rubber-coated bit is only suitable for horses that do not tend to chew on the bit with their teeth, as otherwise the rubber can be damaged.
The advantages of the Pelham:
- Can be ridden with two or one rein
- Pull and leverage can be used in a controlled manner as required
Advantages of the Pelham side pieces:
- the special feature of the Stübben STEEL tec Pelham side pieces are the short reins.
- The short extensions enable a faster action with short rein paths.
- the quick action is very helpful in show jumping, especially when making quick turns
- the flat stainless steel chin chain hooks fit better and prevent the corners of the mouth from being pinched
- the special chin chain hooks also make it easier to align the chin chain.
Features:
- Tightening: 5 cm
- Bit thickness: 16 mm
- Bar not flexible
Material:
Stainless steel
What all stainless steels have in common is that at least 12% chromium is added to the steel alloy. Contact with oxygen from the surrounding media (air, water, other substances) causes a thin, transparent layer of chromium oxide to form on the surface of the steel, which is only a few atomic layers thick. This is also referred to as "passivation". This layer protects the underlying steel from further chemical influences.
If the surface is damaged, this passive layer forms again automatically under the influence of oxygen. Due to the new formation of the passive layer, it is also possible to speak of "self-healing" or a "self-repair mechanism". This means that stainless steel can be reground at any time.
Stübben STEELtec quality:
No sharp edges that could injure the horse's mouth
- Long durability thanks to selected materials
- Special processing techniques minimise the risk of the joints of the bits being knocked out.
