Mahaloplants Aloe vera
35 cm, Animal friendlyProduct details
Origin
Aloe vera barbadensis, also known as medicinal aloe, originates from the Arabian Peninsula. Over time, however, the plant has spread across various tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Due to its adaptability, it can now be found in areas with different climates, from dry desert regions to humid coastal areas.
Characteristics
Aloe vera barbadensis is an evergreen, succulent plant that typically grows in a rosette shape. It produces long, fleshy leaves that are adorned with small, white spines at the edges. The leaves are filled with a transparent, gel-like tissue that retains water and helps the plant survive in dry conditions. The plant flowers with long, narrow inflorescences that protrude from the central rosette and bear bright yellow flowers.
Care
Despite its tropical origin, Aloe vera barbadensis is relatively easy to care for. It prefers sunny locations and well-drained soil to prevent root rot. The plant requires little water and needs dry rather than moist conditions, especially in winter. In addition, care requires little pruning, but removed or damaged leaves can easily be cut off to make care easier.
