Product details
Ficus ginseng grows in the beautiful south of China and in Malaysia. Ginseng is the Chinese word for "root", which refers to the stem of the plant. This true bonsai tree takes years to develop its roots. Then the small-leaved ficus is grafted onto the rootstock. With a lot of patience, the plant is pruned to obtain the bonsai-like shape. The ficus belongs to the mulberry family (Moraceae) and is one of the most popular bonsai species for beginners.
Care
Ficus Ginseng needs a bright location without full sun. The brighter the plant, the more water it needs. So water it regularly and do not let the root ball dry out. The plant can even stand outside for a while in summer as long as the temperature does not drop below 12-15 degrees Celsius. In winter, water less and leave at 12-15 degrees Celsius. The yellow, brown or ugly leaves can be safely removed. In addition, the plant can be pruned in autumn to keep the ficus in good shape. To give the plant extra vitality, it can be fed with Bonsai Nutrition.
