Product details
Ficus ginseng grows in the beautiful south of China and in Malaysia. Ginseng is the Chinese word for "root", which refers to the stem of the plant.
This true bonsai tree takes years to develop its roots. Then the small-leaved ficus is grafted onto the rootstock. With a lot of patience, the plant is pruned to obtain the bonsai-like shape. The ficus belongs to the mulberry family (Moraceae) and is one of the most popular bonsai species for beginners.
Care
Ficus Ginseng (also called Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng) needs a bright location without bright sunlight. The brighter the plant, the more water it needs. So water it regularly and never let the clod dry out. The plant can also be placed outdoors in summer, provided the temperature does not drop below 12-15 degrees Celsius. Yellow, brown or unsightly leaves can easily be removed. If you want to prune the plant, it is best to do so in autumn. To give the plant extra vitality, you can feed it with bonsai food.
Caution. In the beginning the bonsai may lose leaves, but this is not harmful. The plant needs some time to get used to its new location, so do not move it too often. New leaves will grow by themselves. In the beginning, always make sure that there is enough light and water.
