Product details
The olive tree, officially Olea Europaea, is the oldest known cultivated tree in history. With their silvery foliage, gnarled trunks and fragrant clusters of white flowers in spring, these striking trees are a beautiful eye-catcher in the garden at any time of year. It is a beautiful evergreen tree that adds a Mediterranean flavour to your garden or balcony. Olive trees are very hardy, which makes them ideal for colder areas. And of course the tree also produces real olives.
Care
Olive trees are ideal for any garden. You can plant them in containers and place them on the patio, but they can also be planted in the ground. Olive trees prefer a sunny location and do not like wet feet. Therefore, when keeping the tree in a pot, always make sure that the pot has holes at the bottom. Water the olea regularly in spring and summer. Pruning is not necessary at first, but is best done in early spring or autumn (around October). Before the olives are cultivated, the olea blooms in spring with small creamy white and yellow flowers. After flowering, the green fruits (or drupes) grow. The olives can be harvested while they are still green or after they are fully ripe in late autumn, depending on how you want to use them.
