Product details
Rhododendron azalea "Anouk" is also known as Japanese Azalea. Japanese Azalea is a collective term for a group of rhododendrons that grow naturally in Japan. These are compact-growing plants with abundant blooms in spring. Rhododendron azalea "Anouk" beautifully flowers in April/May with light pink blossoms that create a lovely contrast against the dark green leaves. The shrub is evergreen, retaining its leaves even in winter. It grows slowly, remaining low and compact, making it an ideal colorful addition to smaller gardens or for planting in pots. Some of the azalea's foliage dies off in winter to make way for new leaves in spring.
Care
Rhododendrons are generally low-maintenance garden plants, but they do require some level of care. This primarily concerns the soil in which the garden plant is situated. It must have adequate moisture and a low acidity level. Typically, the plants in the garden provide the necessary humus in the soil, and the fallen leaves help to stop evaporation, allowing the soil to retain moisture. We refer to such a layer of leaves as mulch. Therefore, do not remove the leaves around the roots. If you plant Rhododendron azalea "Anouk" in a pot, it is also important that the plant receives sufficient water and occasionally some peat mulch. Additionally, repot the plant once a year into fresh soil and a slightly larger pot. Pruning should only be done to maintain its shape, preferably shortly after the flowering period.
