Product details

The Strelitzia reginea, also known as the bird of paradise flower, creates a tropical atmosphere in any room. Originally from South Africa, this plant can now be found worldwide. The Strelitzia is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, as long as it is brought indoors when temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celsius. With its large, pointed leaves and beautiful orange and blue ornamental flowers, the bird of paradise flower is a striking focal point. It takes about 5 years for the Strelitzia to bloom, with the flowering period often occurring from May to October. The Strelitzia is delivered with at least 2 flowers already in bloom. After the flowering period, it may take up to 12 months for it to bloom again. The mature height of the bird of paradise flower indoors is approximately 150 cm.

Care
The bird of paradise flower prefers a location with plenty of light. Therefore, the plant requires a lot of water (be mindful of drainage to avoid root rot). Water less in winter, allowing the soil to dry out regularly. The plant can also be kept on the terrace in spring and summer. Since the plant is not frost-resistant, it should be brought back indoors by October at the latest.
