No, you can't. It's not necessary, because the rotatable funnel system allows the grill to be switched from direct to indirect heat. Used in this way, the grill works like a convection oven. Turning a spit is therefore unnecessary. For large pieces of meat and whole chicken, you get a top grilling result!
