The name of the car derives from the engine used: an 8-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 2,336 cc, which became an icon in the automotive panorama of the time. The 8C could be considered "state of the art" in terms of technology, technical solutions and performance. Characterized by exceptional road holding and excellent reliability, Alfa Romeo achieved significant sporting victories on numerous international circuits and associated its name with the famous driver from Mantua, Tazio Nuvolari. Among its most famous successes were the victory in the 1931 Targa Florio and the Italian Grand Prix. This last victory also contributed to the name of the GP car, which had two seats side by side and was called "Monza" to celebrate the enterprise.
