The railcars of the series 425 and 426 (popularly known as "Quitschie") of the Siemens Transportation Systems/Bombardier/DWA consortium are light electric articulated railcars for suburban and regional traffic. They are almost identical in construction to the class 424, which is used in the Hanover S-Bahn network. They differ from the outwardly very similar pure S-Bahn series 423, among other things, in the boarding height, the reduced number of doors (2 instead of 3 per carriage side) and by a built-in WC. The driving and braking technology, on the other hand, is almost identical to that of the 423, apart from a few differences, e.g. in the power electronics.
