COMPARISON TEST - 5 stainless steel roasters
For many, the Christmas season is probably the best time of the year: when else can you get together with family and friends on wonderful winter evenings, enjoy the time together that has become so rare and devote yourself to the essentials: Food! No matter whether it's a classic roast goose with aromatic marjoram, a noble, wonderfully "wild" flavoured saddle of venison with juniper berries or - if you want to leave meat and fish out of the equation - a modern roast lentil dish with a sweet and spicy glaze. You only need one thing for all these delicacies: a suitable roasting pan in which the food can not only be roasted evenly, but in which it can also braise gently afterwards. After all, this is what characterises roasters: They allow meat, fish and vegetables to become wonderfully tender by braising for many hours at a moderate temperature. The currently available stainless steel roasters are much lighter than the original cast iron models and can also be cleaned very quickly. We have tested 5 different stainless steel roasters.
