Although true barbecue fans continue to add aromatic roasted flavours to their food over blazing flames and smouldering coals in winter, the average consumer is now also deriving pleasure from barbecuing again. Because the taste of meat, fish, vegetables and bread prepared over an open fire is special - and unattainable any other way. Depending on how much space the home garden (or balcony) offers, different types of barbecues are recommended; each of them comes with different advantages and disadvantages. In our test, we opened the barbecue season and put a total of eleven (charcoal) barbecues to the test, including seven kettle and four column barbecues.
