Test Report

18 Cooker bonnets in recirculation mode

After cooking, the flat often smells like a chip shop. Dried-on grease fumes are also a breeding ground for bacteria. Cooker bonnets are designed to capture grease and odours. Stiftung Warentest tested 18 models, ranging from simple under-cabinet bonnets (56 euros) and chimney bonnets with horizontal screens from Miele and Siemens to Berbel's free-standing head bonnet (2,640 euros). Some bonnets bring fresh air - others only illuminate the hob. The scores range from good to poor.
