COMPARISON TEST - 2 steam ironing stations
Whether it's linen trousers, woollen jumpers or completely different textiles: They are all disfigured by washing and drying - even if some materials are much more grateful than others. If you want to present yourself neatly to the outside world, you have to take care of your textiles one more time and fully level out the wrinkles that are present in them: This can be quite labour-intensive and also time-consuming - depending on how the laundry is cared for. Wrinkles can be removed much more quickly and easily if the textiles are not only treated with mechanical pressure and heat, but also with water - water that evaporates and can then work its way into the fibres of the fabric. This is the reason why modern steam irons and steam ironing stations are becoming more and more popular all over the world: They promise immense labour and time savings simply because they combine textile care with regular steam output. In many households, steam ironing stations can be more useful than steam irons: after all, they come with a more expansive tank so that masses of laundry can be ironed and cared for in one go without having to fetch more and more water. Meanwhile, the higher steam pressure makes it easier to remove creases. We tested two surprisingly compact steam ironing stations that only take up a minimum of space: The Braun CareStyle Compact steam ironing station IS 2143BL and the Philips PerfectCare Compact GC7844/20! Read on to find out which of the two models came out on top in which test disciplines.
