COMPARISON TEST - 9 stainless steel cookware sets

Pots have been an elementary part of the household inventory since time immemorial: while one can certainly argue about the sense and nonsense of many machines that are so resplendent with dazzling functions, as a consumer one must have a set of pots in the household containing several parts in order to be able to use them in an orderly manner:In any case, a consumer must have a set of pots containing several parts in the household in order to be able to cook with them in a proper manner that opens up the various disciplines of cooking - i.e. frying, steaming, braising, etcetera. In the meantime, pots made of stainless steel or at least of a metal mixture consisting mainly of stainless steel have become widespread in the Western world. And not without reason: after all, stainless steel is inexpensive, extraordinarily stable, not really heavy and can maintain the temperatures it reaches for more than just a few minutes. These advantages can be seen not only in the quality of the food prepared in stainless steel pots, but also in the ultimately more moderate power consumption: The quicker the material reaches the right temperature for cooking, the quicker the cooking process can be completed and the cooker can be switched off again - but the extent of the electricity savings is of course highly dependent on the type of food and the method of cooking. But it is not only the material that is decisive when choosing a pot. It's also the size: a generous size is particularly useful if you regularly want to prepare more than a few portions at a time, e.g. because you want to prepare meals on a regular basis at the start of each week. Otherwise, however, such a size simply means more material that has to be heated by the cooker, consuming more electricity. Precisely because the size that makes sense to use depends on the situation, you should always have pots of different sizes in the house. For this reason alone, it makes sense to buy a pot set that covers several sizes. This time we tested 9 stainless steel pot sets from renowned manufacturers (€min - €max: €97.50-289.00).
