Children's bicycle helmets in the test - Smart heads ride safely

Children are role models. 82 percent cycle with a helmet. To keep it that way, they need good models. Stiftung Warentest tested 18 children's bicycle helmets. In the event of a fall, heads are particularly at risk, especially those of children. Even an impact at a speed of 10 kilometres per hour can lead to severe brain damage. From speed 16, the head usually does not survive an impact without injuries. Orthopaedists and accident surgeons therefore recommend: wear a helmet when cycling - at any age. In the event of a fall, a helmet can prevent a serious head injury.
