Electric toothbrushes tested: The bristles make the difference
"Kassensturz" and the consumer magazine "K-Tipp" had the twelve best-selling electric toothbrushes tested in a specialised laboratory. The devices cost between 30 and 215 francs. The manufacturers of electric toothbrushes promise gentle cleaning with vibrating or rotating brushes. But some of them can damage the gums. The cause: bristles on the brushes that are not rounded. Consumers cannot check this themselves, so the laboratory has put the bristle ends under the microscope and rated them accordingly.
