Ovens in the test - Baking is good - cleaning is bad

Many ovens in the test produce delicious cakes and roasts. But self-cleaning ("pyrolysis") is a problem. Several ovens became dangerously hot. In its current oven test, Stiftung Warentest examined the best-selling price segment from low to medium-priced. All eleven built-in ovens tested in the 2023 test are equipped with a pyrolysis function: If you set it and turn up the temperature, the ovens supposedly clean themselves. But in the test, this didn't really work in any of the ovens. The good news is that almost all the ovens in the test bake well - but only three of the new appliances achieved a good overall rating.
