For the majority of those who have a garden, mowing the lawn is probably one of the most essential gardening tasks: Even if you don't want an immaculate lawn in the style of an "English lawn", you still have to take care of the lawn from time to time to keep the overgrowth in check. Fortunately, the work involved in all this can be made much easier: With a suitable lawn mower, which 89 % of all people with a garden use regularly. Those who want to bring such a device into their house - or rather into their garden - must first think about one thing: should the lawn mower be powered by petrol or electricity? And if you prefer electricity: Do you want to leave the lawn mower connected to a power supply outside the house while you mow, or should it have a mobile power reservoir in the form of a modern rechargeable battery? The latter option is becoming increasingly popular, not only in Germany, as the operation of an electric motor is only associated with a moderate noise emission. Moreover, you can enjoy full freedom of movement and manoeuvre the lawnmower in all corners of the garden. This time, we looked at 11 modern lawn mowers and determined everything that is essential in terms of quality in practical tests.
