The Locky ransomware programme was able to encrypt 17,000 computers in Germany in order to demand a ransom. Security programmes seemed powerless. But they are not, as long as users contribute to security. test.de shows how. Tested: 17 security programs for Windows PCs and notebooks, including 3 free programs and the Defender protection program with firewall integrated into the Windows 10 operating system. Result: Good protection is not available for free (prices 0 to 60 euros).
