IFA 2023: Our reports from Berlin
The International Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin begins on 1 September. The editorial team of Michelle, Lorenz, Jan, Florian and Luca will be there. They will be reporting from the trade fair during the press days from 30 to 31 August and 1 September, which start two days earlier.
We are ready.
We, that is Germany editor Jan and the Swiss editorial team Michelle, Lorenz, Florian and Luca. During the doors open exclusively to the press from 30 to 31 August and 1 September, we will be reporting live on site from the IFA in Berlin, Europe's leading trade fair for technology and consumer electronics. You can find more impressions on site in our Insta-Broadcast channel (only works on mobile).
2 to 5 September - The trade fair is in full swing
5 September
Most of the gadgets at IFA need electricity. If there is no power socket on site or the power fails, power stations can supply it. There is a wide range on sale at the trade fair:
And another robot hoover: The DreameBot L20 Ultra has the special feature that it runs completely autonomously for up to 75 days. It vacuums the dust, changes the water, tops up the detergent and cleans and dries the mop. Fully automatic.
Nurses in hospitals spend a lot of time carrying and moving equipment and medication. Two robots are now set to take over. This leaves more time for caring for the sick.
4 September
Flo found out about possible early detection of hearing loss. He came across the "Mimi" app. You might find it useful too.
Jan kept his eyes peeled for new smartphone accessories in the exhibition halls.
There are also gadgets and devices for creative projects at IFA. Michelle has collected some of them here.
The e-bike from Acer looks strange, but has a lot of technology built in: From collision warning to AI, which adapts the motor and automatic gear shifting individually to the rider.
3 September
Perhaps the most beautiful innovation at the tech fair are the small lights from Lexon, which synchronise with each other and are available in different versions.
2 September
Roborock not only has flagship models in its range, but also more affordable entry-level models in the robot hoover segment. Lorenz took a look at the new Q5 and Q8 - which are available from just 350 francs.

Flo has descended into hell and let Teufel show him the latest audio creations. Find out what you can expect here.

Jan had a look around Lenovo. Here he was able to see the gaming colossus "Legion 9i". You can read Jan's first impression here.
14:46
TCL was the first TV manufacturer to launch Mini LED on the market. Since then, the Chinese tech giant has been constantly pushing the technology forward. The latest innovation: a 5000 nit bright TV (that's brutally bright).
13:52
Xgimi is causing a stir with a technological projector world first. The Horizon Ultra is said to be the first Dolby Vision-capable 4K projector. I took a look at it.
10:00
Jan dropped by smartphone manufacturer Honor and has good news: the Magic V2 foldable phone is coming to Europe.
9:18 am
Sony presents a real smartphone novelty at IFA. Michelle took a look at the Sony Xperia 5 V. Clearly a flagship in terms of specs - but a little more compact and reduced.
8:01 am
Lenovo has unveiled its gaming handheld, the Legion Go. Jan and Michelle took a first look at the mobile console in Berlin
31 August
Day two
14:54
The TVs that get bigger, more colourful and brighter every year are not always the stars of the show. Not for Luca. He has fallen in love with something very special: LG's StandbyME Go, the TV out of a suitcase.
14:39
JBL sets off a firework display. With the "Authentics" speakers, they want to appeal to a more sophisticated audience. Florian took a look at the new products.
12:46 p.m.
LG has been innovating the OLED market for ten years. This year too: with the LG OLED Signature M3, the world's first wireless OLED TV. Luca has not yet been able to test it. But he was able to take a closer look at it on site.
10:15 am
The embargo has fallen, the curtain has been lifted on the new Philips Hue products. And surprise: there are no new lamps and lights, but security cameras and sensors. Philips Hue is thus expanding its portfolio in a completely new direction.
09:00
The little garden helper Willow does its rounds on an artificial lawn at the IFA and demonstrates what else is possible besides mowing the lawn.
00:00
Midnight. The NDA falls. The new "Ambeo Mini" soundbar from Sennheiser is here. Read our first impression here:
30 August
First day
16:45
The launch of the new Bosch food processor turned into a croissant drama for Lorenz. After all, the appliance can knead another 3.7 kilograms of dough if necessary.
14:11
The German family-run company Miele is also showcasing its new household appliances. It was striking how few innovations Mr Miele actually presented, but all the more emphasis was placed on the topic of environmental protection.
12:27 p.m.
IFA may stand for "International Consumer Electronics Fair", but household appliances have had a permanent place at the trade fair for years. Like this oven with camera and lots of technology.
11:45 a.m.
The presentation only took place via livestream, but the Fairphone 5 can be seen directly at the IFA. Jan had already received a test device and finished his test in good time.
08:44 am
Arrived. Moved into quarters. The battle plan is set. From now on, everything can only turn out differently than planned. That's what happens at trade fairs. Especially at IFA Berlin. It's huge, loud, chaotic. And exciting. Exciting. Overwhelming even.
Over the next three days, we want to provide you with hands-on reports of devices that are being shown to the public for the first time, explain tech trends and report first-hand news. We will be supported by our editorial colleagues in Switzerland and Germany, who will also be on the lookout for news and trends. That's why it's worth popping in here from time to time. This will keep you up to date.
Apropos: If you have any questions or want to send us an order to the IFA, please do so in the comments to this newsfeed. I can't promise you that we'll be able to respond to everything and everyone. But we'll do our best. I promise.
Let's go.
