ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q
2560 x 1440 pixels, 27"
I still need the right peripherals for my new PC. I've found an excellent monitor. As for the keyboard, I wanted to try something new, but ended up buying the good old model anyway.
After a long search, I came across the Asus PG279Q - with 2560x1440 pixels and a generous 27-inch panel. It features IPS technology and good colours as well as an excellent speed of up to 165 Hz and nVidia G-Synch for ideal synchronisation with the graphics card. My monitor convinces across the board.
For the other peripherals, I wanted to give other brands a chance and not just Logitech, which gave me a lot of work.
I ordered a Razer Blackwidow Chroma: I opened the package, unwrapped the keyboard, looked at it, clicked and almost went deaf. Then the cable: I looked at it and almost had a heart attack because of the second USB and the audio socket - the cable is far too big! So I packed it all up and sent it back. Sure, it cost me 10% of the purchase price, but the cheaper demo product will make a happy customer. The keyboard doesn't meet my needs. I obviously don't need a mechanical keyboard.
So I went back to the good old hardware: the Logitech Illuminated K740 keyboard has certainly been around for a while, but it is, in my opinion, ideal. I also work with it at work and can recommend it. It's got good typing, backlighting, is nice and flat and doesn't have any unnecessary functions. I couldn't find it in our online shop at first, as the property regarding the backlight wasn't specified; an error I rectified straight away.
For the mouse, I went for the Razer Mamba. What can I say... it's a bit of a pain its useless colour schemes. I just want an accurate mouse! But maybe I'll keep it anyway, you can still turn off the lighting. Nevertheless, I bought myself a Logitech G402. It fits my hand better. For the moment, I'm using the Mamba on my old PC. Leaving aside all those colours, it's not even too bad, and the old mouse was old.
With a mouse pad, navigation is more pleasant than without. But I don't like hard mats that much. As for soft mats, you have to change them from time to time, because they don't get any nicer over time and can't be cleaned optimally any more. It would be handy to be able to put them in the washing machine ;-)
Cool: Creating interfaces between the real world and the world of pure information. Not cool: Driving by car to the mall to shop. My life happens online, the information age is where I feel at home.
