«Rohformat» part 4: a short documentary about Peter Lindbergh
This is the fourth and final episode of this series. With everything I’ve learned so far, I try to recreate three of Peter Lindbergh’s lighting situations. Does it go well? Watch the video to find out.
The interviews I did gave me insight into Peter's personality and style. On top of this, I watched several «Behind-the-scenes videos», which helped me find out how he worked and what equipment he used. I’m now trying to combine and apply all this knowledge in a photo shoot – it’s me, a model and a makeup artist.
Alejandra is my model for the photo shoot. She’s from Geneva and is a student in the field of nutrition counselling. She started modelling about five years ago, mainly to work on her shyness. Alejandra has a fascinating face and a gripping but shy aura. Makeup artist Renata is supporting us. She helps me bring out the genuine and honest beauty of Alejandra. At the same time, she’s also my assistant at the photo shoot.
Photo contest
These were the four episodes of season one. But there’s more to come. Now it’s your turn. As part of this series on Peter Lindbergh, we’re looking for the most expressive black and white portrait photographs. The 150 best portrait pictures will be exhibited at the Photobastei on 9 December. Want to sign up or looking for more information? Here you go:
Feedback and possibly season 2
It’s very important to us that this «Rohformat» series is a production you can get involved in, you feel excited about and you learn something from. We’d love to hear your opinion on it! Feel free to share your feedback in the comments section or send your input or questions to me at thomas.kunz@digitecgalaxus.ch.
In the next weeks, we’ll be busy evaluating the photographs that are submitted for the photo contest. We’ll also collect and discuss all your feedback, positive and negative, and decide whether there will be a season 2 or not. What we’ve already decided is that, if there is a second season, we’ll let you and the rest of the Community decide which photographer we’re taking a closer look at.
