A lot of people visit our website for one reason, and one reason only: to shop online. To find a product and head to the checkout without further ado. However, there are also countless visitors who read and comment on articles, submit reviews and discuss various topics. This article provides some insight into our Community – and serves as a little thank you to the people involved in it.

As 2023 drew to a close, we showcased the Galaxus Corporate Communications Department’s and Editorial Team’s best and worst performing stories of the year. Keen to know more, the Community hit the comments section. Take user Joli8618, for example:

Your wish is my command! After delving a little deeper into the data, I’ve compiled some extra information for you here.

A Community full of helping hands

Users on the Digitec and Galaxus websites ask 231 questions a day on average. That’s about 80,000 questions over the entire year. However, the Community doesn’t just ask questions – it also answers around two thirds of them.

Stardustone was the most helpful member of the Galaxus Community last year, answering a whopping 1,117 Community questions. That’s a record for 2023. With an answer to (pretty much) everything, he’s basically the Chuck Norris of Galaxus. It’s also worth mentioning that his answers were rated as helpful 218 times. Thank you!

Causing a stir in the Community: dark mode and delivery dramas

Our Community kicked off 3,417 threads in 2023. That’s nearly 10 per day. Two topics generated particularly heated debate.

Dark mode is an issue that’s been on our users’ minds for five years now. We granted the Community’s wish, launching dark mode on Digitec and Galaxus in October 2023.

A discussion about «shipping with Planzer» was the most-voted thread of 2023. In total, it received over 200 thumbs-ups or thumbs-downs as well as about 300 comments.

Upvote and downvote of the year

Moving on to magazine articles, Refreshingly honest – Digitec Galaxus now displays warranty score and return rate received the highest vote score of the year.

User MontyB expressed his enthusiasm for the new feature and the Community agreed with him. He achieved the highest upvote (+598) of the year. The downvote of the year went to user Nathanloup, who questioned the value of dark mode.

Do you regularly review products you’ve bought from us? Do you answer questions submitted by the Community? Or maybe you’ve neither the time nor the inclination to get involved in discussions on Galaxus and Digitec, and just want to get on with your shopping? Let us know in the comments!
