The first million: the Galaxus product range continues to grow

The Galaxus shopping experience is becoming increasingly well rounded. For the first time, the online department store with roots in Switzerland now has more than one million products available in Germany and Austria on galaxus.de and galaxus.at. Just in time for summer, the furniture and garden furniture lines in particular have been expanded.

Galaxus isn’t just for electronics, toys or DIY equipment – it also carries furniture, lamps and decorative accessories. We’ve significantly developed our interiors section on galaxus.de and galaxus.at – we now offer around 160,000 home decor products. We announced this back in April, with one fresh development in particular being our extended line of garden furniture. Galaxus began marketing its own-brand garden furniture range Room 05 to Germany for the first time. Business Management Team Leader Dorothea Scheidt says: «Tropical style is emerging as a top garden trend for 2022. When it comes to designing outdoor spaces in this style, it’s advisable to go for wooden and metal furniture. We’ve got innovative options for that in our Room05 range. They complement the green of the plants brilliantly.»

Although the 1-million-strong product range in Germany and Austria is pretty large, our Switzerland-based parent company Digitec Galaxus has more than four million available products. With this in mind, Galaxus Germany is always on the lookout for new manufacturers, suppliers and brands. They can get in touch with us here.

New logistics centre in Krefeld to ensure even better service

After almost four years of Galaxus in Germany, we’re facing our next big growth spurt. A second warehouse is being built for Galaxus at our logistics site in Krefeld. This’ll give the online department store much more room to grow: more space for new, and larger products, more room for staff, even faster delivery times for many products, and a wider selection for customers. The almost 14,000-square metre warehouse, located in the district of Hüls, is due to be occupied in August.

Keeping pace with growth: new staff wanted in Hamburg and Krefeld

In 2021, Galaxus Deutschland GmbH achieved sales of over 100 million euros for the first time. Such robust growth within just three years requires a large workforce, which is why Galaxus is looking for new category management, supply chain management, logistics and marketing team members. You’ll find our current vacancies here.
