The head is a sensitive part of the body. Even an impact at a speed of ten kilometres per hour can lead to brain damage. According to accident studies, cycle helmets significantly reduce the risk of serious head injuries. Our latest test from 2024 also shows this: Every cycle helmet is safer than none. Nevertheless, the differences are huge - in terms of protection, comfort and price.

The Giro helmet has a fixed "triangle" strap, but it still fitted everyone who tested it. Pleasantly soft straps and easy length adjustment with a ratchet fastener, but the lack of a chin strap pad reduces the comfort. Adjustment is made via a dial at the back of the head, which automatically slides under the edge of the helmet when it is closed...
