fit and grip. La Sportiva has equipped the shoe with a textile upper and a GORE-TEX® membrane. This construction enables the shoe's relatively low weight and absolute weather resistance. The special lacing system distributes the tension evenly over the entire instep so that you benefit from pressure-free comfort. To protect your foot and the material from damage in scree, La Sportiva has fitted a protective toe cap and a stabilising chassis to the Akyra II GTX. The FriXion® Red sole is made from a rubber compound that offers a good mix of grip and durability. Functional support is provided by the Impact Brake System™ (IBS), which supports braking power when descending, guarantees maximum traction when ascending and reduces shock loads when stepping with specially arranged studs. In short: the Akyra II GTX is made for active backpacking tours - and is also vegan thanks to the absence of leather and animal adhesives.
