Product details
The famous and extremely popular areca palm, also known as the golden cane palm, originates from the humid tropics of Madagascar. Areca palms can grow up to 12 metres tall outside in the rainforests. Inside, however, the plant remains much smaller and usually does not grow taller than 2 metres. The areca is number one on the list of the best air-purifying plants. It cleans the environment in which it grows by removing hazardous chemicals such as formaldehyde, xylene and toluene. This also makes the Areca a favourite in offices. Apart from its useful properties, the Areca also looks simply beautiful with its narrow, shiny leaves.
Care:
Areca is not difficult to care for. The plant prefers a bright spot, but not direct sunlight. Preferably water twice a week, in winter once a week is sufficient. The root ball should always be slightly moist. For a healthy plant, it is advisable to add some plant food to the water once a month. As the Areca originally grows in a climate with high humidity, it is advisable to spray its leaves regularly with water. Brown old leaves can be cut off.
