Product details
The famous and extremely popular areca palm, also known as the Golden Cane Palm, comes from the humid tropics of Madagascar. Areca palms can grow up to 12 metres high outside in the rainforests. Inside, however, the plant remains much smaller and usually does not grow taller than 2 metres. The areca is number one on the list of the best air-purifying plants. It purifies the environment in which it stands by removing dangerous chemicals such as formaldehyde, xylene and toluene. This also makes the areca very popular in offices. Apart from its useful properties, the areca also looks simply beautiful with its narrow, glossy leaves.
Care
Caring for the areca is not difficult. The plant prefers a bright location, but not direct sunlight. Preferably water twice a week, in winter once a week is sufficient. The root ball should always be slightly moist. For a healthy plant, it is recommended to add some plant food to the watering once a month. Since the areca originally grows in a climate with high humidity, it is advisable to spray its leaves with water regularly. Brown old leaves can be cut off.
